That was clearly the thinking behind 'Fridgehenge', a replica of England's prehistoric monument Stonehenge, which sprung up overnight on a street corner in Kent. The structure was built using over 30 fridges in the early hours of Monday morning, and it's already been getting attention from local visitors.

London Bridge transformed into rainbow-brick road for gloomy Monday

LONDON — It was a grey, rainy and cold morning for most of the city Monday, but people crossing the Thames via London Bridge were given something to smile about thanks to a colourful art installation.

The rainbow footpath was created by Spark Your City, a new movement that's dedicated to transforming ordinary city routines and landmarks into "extraordinary living playgrounds." The group collaborated with BBC 1 presenter Gemma Cairney who said the initiative aimed to cheer people up on a "gloomy Monday morning."

Taylor Swift Writes Open Letter To Apple Explaining Why 1989 Won't Be On Apple Music & Apple Responds In Quick And Surprising Way!

Well that was...Swift.

On Saturday, Taylor Swift decided to take to Tumblr to write an open letter to Apple to give her true feelings about their new streaming service, Apple Music, that launches on June 30!

Swift clearly has a lot of respect for Apple, because she starts the letter -- which she titles "To Apple, Love Taylor" -- by stating how much respect she has for the company and they're one of the best "partners" in selling music she's had.

It's shortly after this that she started her digs at the tech giant for their decision to not pay artists or labels to stream music during the 90-day free trial of Apple Music. Taylor says of the decision:

"I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company. "

Taylor also went on to specify that she was standing up for the little guy and that she she is merely echoing the sentiments of other artists she knows and is using this letter to stand up for friends in the industry who are too afraid to speak out. Even though she's calling Apple out -- she's not exactly being vicious about it. She sums the letter up by saying:

"But I say to Apple with all due respect, it's not too late to change this policy and change the minds of those in the music industry who will be deeply and gravely affected by this. We don't ask you for free iPhones. Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation."

Well it didn't take long for Apple to see Swift's letter and apparently it had quite the impact on them. Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of internet services and software took to Twitter the very next morning and respond by saying:

Sounds like Cue knows how to keep the right people in his corner! In an interview with Billboard, the SVP said of the decision:

"When I woke up this morning and saw what Taylor had written, it really solidified that we needed a change. And so that's why we decide we will now pay artists during the trial period."

After the news broke, Taylor went back to Twitter to announce her joy and thank everyone for the support:

Map of London's new 24-hour Tube service released

LONDON — Late-night public transport will be transformed from early September in London when a 24-hour service on select Tube lines is introduced. On Monday, Transport for London released the map, showing the lines that will run into early hours on weekends.

All-night Tubes are due to run Friday nights and early mornings on Saturdays and Sundays from September 12, although drivers are threatening to strike over pay and conditions for the new hours with a walk out planned for the evening of July 8.

Taliban target Afghan parliament in suicide attack

The Taliban launched a complex attack on the Afghan parliament Monday, with a suicide car bomber striking at the entrance and gunmen battling police as lawmakers were meeting inside to confirm the appointment of a defense minister, police and witnesses said.
