Well that was...Swift.
On Saturday, Taylor Swift decided to take to Tumblr to write an open letter to Apple to give her true feelings about their new streaming service, Apple Music, that launches on June 30!
Swift clearly has a lot of respect for Apple, because she starts the letter -- which she titles "To Apple, Love Taylor" -- by stating how much respect she has for the company and they're one of the best "partners" in selling music she's had.

It's shortly after this that she started her digs at the tech giant for their decision to not pay artists or labels to stream music during the 90-day free trial of Apple Music. Taylor says of the decision:
"I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company. "
Taylor also went on to specify that she was standing up for the little guy and that she she is merely echoing the sentiments of other artists she knows and is using this letter to stand up for friends in the industry who are too afraid to speak out. Even though she's calling Apple out -- she's not exactly being vicious about it. She sums the letter up by saying:
"But I say to Apple with all due respect, it's not too late to change this policy and change the minds of those in the music industry who will be deeply and gravely affected by this. We don't ask you for free iPhones. Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation."

Well it didn't take long for Apple to see Swift's letter and apparently it had quite the impact on them. Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of internet services and software took to Twitter the very next morning and respond by saying:

Sounds like Cue knows how to keep the right people in his corner! In an interview with Billboard, the SVP said of the decision:
"When I woke up this morning and saw what Taylor had written, it really solidified that we needed a change. And so that's why we decide we will now pay artists during the trial period."
After the news broke, Taylor went back to Twitter to announce her joy and thank everyone for the support:
