Two cities, two block parties: Shootings leave one dead and at least 16 injured

Saturday night was marked by violence in Philadelphia and Detroit, where two shootings at neighborhood parties have left one dead and at least 16 people seriously injured.

An unknown gunman opened fire with a shotgun on a West Philadelphia block party at around 10 p.m, police said. The gunfire seriously injured an 18-month-old girl, an 11-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, as well as four adults, NBC Philadelphia reported. All victims are being treated in hospital.
