This is just so sad.
We hate to have to tell you this, but it looks like legendary actor Omar Sharif has unfortunately been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
According to Omar's son Tarek El-Sharif, the 83-year-old has been dealing with the disease for the past three years, and often gets his movies confused.
Tarek shared a rather grim statement about his father's mental status in a recent interview, saying:
"My father has Alzheimer's. It's difficult to determine what stage it's at. It's obvious he'll never improve and it will get worse."
Wow. We cannot begin to imagine how hard this is going to be for Omar's family.

Tarek also said that while his father is still aware that he is a celebrity, his condition has caused him to retire from acting.
This is such sad news, and our thoughts are with the entire Sharif family.
