Protesters rallying for fair wages for fast food employees on Wednesday brought traffic near McDonald's headquarters in a Chicago suburb to a standstill.
The rally was held on the first of two days of planned demonstrations to coincide with the company's annual shareholder meeting, which will take place on Thursday. McDonald's was forced to close a restaurant near the Oak Brook, Illinois, location of its corporate headquarters, and encouraged employees at one of its office buildings to work from home
