As investigators continue to search for clues in the Amtrak derailment that killed eight people in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, they are examining whether the engineer's windshield may have been hit by an object shortly before the crash — and looking at two other trains that were in the same area that also had their windows damaged.
It's not unusual for trains in the area to have projectiles thrown at them by vandals or teenagers; the tracks run through a violent part of Philadelphia. And for train engineers anywhere in the country, "getting rocked" apparently comes with the territory.
