Captivating slow motion footage shows moment lightning strikes a beach

A slow-motion video has captured the moment lightning struck a beach in Florida.

The footage, filmed by Clint Blevins, was taken during a storm at Daytona Beach. It shows the incredible power of the lightning strike, as it illuminates the sky.

On Tuesday, a boy was seriously injured when he was hit by lightning at the same beach. He was fishing with his father at the time. It is understood no one was in the water when the above footage was filmed
