Stormy weather didn't stop Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah from crossing the muddy finish line first at the Preakness Stakes in Baltimore on Saturday

The Preakness favorite now has a chance at a Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes on June 6. The last Triple Crown winner was Affirmed in 1978.

American Pharoah won as rain pummeled the track and thunder roared, beating out second-place Tale of Verve. Divining Rod took third, Dortmund fourth
